On Friday, March 6, the owners of Northwoods Maple & More, Rebecca and Anthony Renken, were joined by ambassadors of the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce for the official ribbon cutting at their new retail location at 811 East First Street.
The Renkens have been long time sellers of maple syrup products as well as CBD products, mainly selling at local farmers markets. The family owns and operates Northwoods Maple Farm, which is the supplier for their maple products. In July of 2019, the Renkens decided to open up a retail location at 308 Grand Avenue, where they were located up until Feb. 25, when they opened at their First Street location.
According to owner Rebeccca Renken, the new space will give the couple a chance to grow their business.
“We decided to move locations because this new place gives us a lot more space,” explained Renken. “We were able to decorate here and make it look how we wanted, but it also gives us room to grow. It gives us an opportunity to bring in more inventory and just do what we want to do.”
“We offer a large variety of things,” continued Renken. “We really try to focus on gift items that are hand-made by local vendors, so it’s unique and people can’t find them just anywhere. One of our main products is our CBD line. We offer a wide range of CBD from many different states, but we try to get a lot of it from Wisconsin. Our CBD products include everything from lip balm, lotions, capsules, gummies and a lot more. We want to show people that there is quality CBD here in our area and you can get it right in your hometown. And obviously we have a large variety of maple products as well.”
Northwoods Maple & More is open regular business hours of 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. More information can be found on their website at www.northwoodsmaplefarm.com or on their Facebook page at Northwoods Maple & More
