Mrachek named January MHS Youth Optimist
Reese Mrachek has been chosen as Merrill High School Youth Optimist of the month of January.
Ms. Kasie Holt nominated Reese and states, “Reese is involved in many different organizations that benefit her community. Even though she is involved in a lot, she finds time in her busy schedule to give back to others. Reese is a very hard worker. She has maintained a rigorous course schedule throughout her years at MHS, while still finding herself at the top of her class.”
Reese is active in Link Crew, National Honor Society, Link Crew Academic Committee, Tri-M Music Honors Society, Junior Optimist Club (received hours certificate), LEAD, Volleyball (Junior Jay Volleyball Coach), Basketball (camp leader), Big Brothers Big Sisters, and FCA. Outside of school, Reese is a volunteer at the Merrill Enrichment Center, Lincoln County Humane Society, St. Francis Xavier Church, and Make A Difference Day.
After high school, Reese plans to attend UW Madison and major in molecular biology. She plans to become a pediatric physician’s assistant. Reese is the daughter of Tammie and Darin Mrachek of Merrill.
