A Merrill man was killed in a logging accident in the Town of Rock Falls on Saturday, Feb. 29.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received at around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, reporting that a man had been found dead at a logging operation off of South End Rd. near Big Hill Rd. Upon arrival, deputies found that the man, identified as Bruce C. Broeking Sr. of Merrill, had been cutting down trees and was struck by a one.
Broeking was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Paul C. Proulx, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
