Trinity Lutheran Church, Eagles Club support Food for Kids Program

In December, Trinity Lutheran Church held a Noisy Offering to benefit Food For Kids. They raised $557.53 to help keep children in our Merrill community, who live in food insecure households, from going hungry on the weekends.

Brad Geiss, on behalf of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, presents a $500 check to Beth Houle, Food For Kids coordinator.

All donations go to purchase food for Food For Kids. Nonperishable food items are packed into bags that are placed discreetly into children’s backpacks at participating Merrill area schools on Fridays so that children at risk for going hungry will have meals and snacks for the weekend. Volunteers from area churches and schools do the shopping for food, pack bags of food, and deliver the bags to the schools. If you’d like more information on how YOU can help, please contact Tina at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, (715) 536-7322.
Food For Kids is truly a community effort, helping to meet a need in our Merrill community. Food For Kids wants to thank everyone who helps our program in any way, big or small! That community support helps this program help the kids, and helps us reach toward our goal: That no child goes hungry.
