MAPS Fab Lab to host public “Focus Nights”

Later this month, the MAPS Fab Lab will begin hosting public “Focus Nights.”
As Fab Lab Director Josh Zalewski explains, Focus Nights will be open to both businesses and organizations in the Merrill community, as well as private citizens.
“The idea of focus nights is to showcase not only the work of our students here in the Fab Lab, but also to introduce the community to the various types of equipment we have and the endless possibilities of what can be produced here in the Fab Lab.”
Focus Nights kicked off in October, when the Fab Lab hosted members of local VFW Post 1638.
Through the months of November and December, post members were introduced to equipment such as a C&C Router, 3D printer and laser cutter. Post members then put their knowledge to work; creating various items including custom acrylic Christmas decor and keychains.

The MAPS Fab Lab Focus Night Schedule is as follows:
Wednesday February 26th 5:30-6:30 What is a Fab Lab?
Wednesday March 11th 5:30-7:00 Intro to 3d printing.
Wednesday April 22th 5:30-7:00 CNC Router sign making.
Wednesday May 20th 5:30-7:00 Laser engraving.
