Pankow named Student of the Week

Washington Elementary third grader Kelsey Pankow has been named Student of the Week, for the week of Jan. 20.
Daughter of Andrew and Leah Pankow of Merrill, Kelsey was nominated by teachers Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Eckes; “Kelsey is a positive role model. Each day she comes to school ready and excited about being here. Her classmates describe her as, “kind, fun and a good sport!” She is always thinking of others and how she can brighten their day with a note, a little picture, or just a smile and “How is your day?”
“One of Kelsey’s best assets is that her smile lights up a room and that she tackles everything with an “I can do it,” mindset. She is purposeful about making school a better place for everyone, by spreading kindness and making learning a priority. We feel honored to have her as part of our school family.”
As Kelsey explains, her favorite part of school is explorations; “We get to learn how to do more things. Right now I am learning how to sew, so when I am older I can sew stuff for people.”
Kelsey’s favorite subject in school is math; Math, “Because when I go to college I can take really fun math classes.”
Some day, Kelsey would like to become a teacher; “Because I want other little kids to have a great experience at school like I do. “
