As of early-December, local pet owners have a new option for end-of-life care for their four-legged companions, courtesy of Alan, Mary and Scott Waid; owners of Paws at Rest Pet Cremations located at 810 E. First Street.
“We enjoy working with people at their time of loss and need,” Alan explains, of the the Waid’s inspiration to embark on their new business endeavor. The three certainly have plenty of experience with such services, after owning and operating Waid Funeral Home for 43 years.
While the downtown location will serve as office and showroom space for various items such as urns and scattering tubes as well as embroidery and jewelry; the cremation site is actually located in Pine River.
As Alan further explains, when the need arises to seek services provided by Paws at Rest, pet-owners have two options. If a respective pet passes at the veterinarian’s office, pet-owners may request the veterinarian contact Paws at Rest for end-of-life care. If a pet passes while at home or somewhere else the Waids can be contacted directly. Paws at Rest is willing and able to provide services for all pets of any size, not exceeding 300 pounds.
For more information on services and pricing, Paws at Rest can be reached by phone (715) 218–0864, via email at [email protected] or by visiting their website at pawsatrestpetcremations.com.
