Monday, Dec.23 members of Merrill VFW Post 1638 Auxiliary participated in the 7th annual “Making Christmas Brighter for Vets” campaign; wrapping and delivering gifts to homebound veterans, as well as those residing at local care facilities including Pine Crest Nursing Home and Bell Tower Residence Assisted Living. In addition, auxiliary members donated gift certificates to six local families in need. The donations were made possible via proceeds raised from a meat raffle at Collins Bar in November and a bake sale held at Schult’s Country Inn on Dec. 13.
