Peggy L. Trantow

Peggy Lynn Trantow met her ‘untimely demise’ on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at her home under the care of her loving family and hospice services. She was able to look out her window at her beloved Lake Pesobic.  Peggy was born April 6, 1954 in Merrill, daughter of Frieda Kleinschmidt and the late William A. Kleinschmidt. For 33 years Peggy was employed with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. She retired in 2012 as Corrections Sergeant. Peggy enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was an active volunteer with ‘Park City Gardens’. Peggy enjoyed spending time on Lake Pesobic; pontooning, fishing, ‘dock sitting’, and being hostess at lake parties. She also enjoyed cooking and painting ‘inspirational rocks’ that were placed in her gardens. Peggy was also an accomplished poet and had several of her poems published.  Peggy honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1974 until 1977, and had been stationed in Stuttgart, Germany as a Radio Operator. She also served four years in the Army Reserves.

Peggy is survived by her loving companion, Brian Kingsley, Merrill, and her son, Josh (Amy Jo Berndt) Trantow, Merrill, the two loves of her life. Peggy is also survived by her mother, Frieda Kleinschmidt, Merrill; and two siblings, Dawn Bruchey of Maryland, and Steven Kleinschmidt, Merrill. Peggy is preceded in death by her father, William A. Kleinschmidt.

At Peggy’s request no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Columbarium. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
