Council Grounds photo contest winners announced

The Friends of Council Grounds State Park wrapped up their yearly photo contest, announcing the winners and runner ups on Thursday, Nov. 7.
According to a press release from the Friends of the Council Grounds State Park; Contestants submitted pictures for four separate cattegories including landscape, people using the park, wildlife and plants. There were many great entries submitted this year and the public vote was very close, with some photos winning by just one vote.
The top two finishers from each of the four cattegories include:
Landscape: Winner- Tom Dotter: “Fall Path”; Runner up- Sherry Kohout: “Foggy Road”

Wildlife: Winner- Daniel Hinz: “Raccoon in Nest Box”; Runner up- Chuck Wensel: “Song Bird”

There will now be a framed collage of the top three finalists and a second collage of the non-finalists, on display in the park contact station from now through the 2020 camping season.
Friends of Council Grounds State Park would like to thank the Merrill Foto News, the Tomahawk Leader, WJJQ and Bluejay 96.3 Radio stations, Merrill Chamber of Commerce and T.B. Scott Library Merrill for their help in publicizing and promoting this years contest.
