StrongBodies Winter 2019-20 Registrations Available

StrongBodies is an evidence-based strength training program developed at Tufts University aimed at mid-life and older women and men. Programs will be offered in both Merrill and Tomahawk for winter 2019-20. Classes in Merrill begin on December 2nd and in Tomahawk on January 6th.
In Merrill, classes will be held on Monday and Wednesdays each week at either 7:50 a.m. or 4:30 p.m. at the Merrill Enrichment Center (303 North Sales Street in Merrill). For Tomahawk, classes will be held on Monday and Thursdays each week at 7:30 a.m.; 9:00 a.m.; 10:30 a.m.; 3:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church (1104 School Road in Tomahawk). Each class is one hour in length.
All women and men can benefit from strength training. The benefits of strength training have been studied extensively and include: increased muscle mass, strength and improved bone density as well as many more benefits physically and emotionally.
The StrongBodies Program includes progressive resistance training, balance training, and flexibility exercises. These exercises are safe and effective for all ages, including those who are not in perfect health.
