Beatrice R. Lokemoen

Beatrice R. Lokemoen, 92, of Merrill, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.  Beatrice was born July 1, 1927, in Rhinelander, daughter of the late Alvin and Ruth (Aldrich) Pfister, Sr.  She married Louis L. Lokemoen on August 17, 1944.  He preceded her in death on November 4, 1997.  Beatrice worked for more than 20 years as the head cook at Highway 51 Truck Stop, Merrill.  She had also worked at the former Watergate Inn, Tomahawk, and several other restaurants.  Beatrice enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading, cooking and baking.  She also enjoyed fishing and preparing the fish that she had caught.  In her younger years, she enjoyed snowmobiling and had raced in the World Powderpuff Snowmobile Races.  Beatrice was very competitive and sharp as a tack.  These traits were often displayed when she played BINGO, cribbage and Yahtzee.  Beatrice was a witty gal with a great sense of humor.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Cindy) Lokemoen of Gleason; grandchildren, Angela (Greg) Huckbody of Wausau, Mary Nowinsky of Wausau and John (Kerri) Lokemoen of Irma; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Corey (Ciara), Ethan, Nolan, Dillan, Dominic and Kaysi; sisters, Angela Lamb of Florida, Lois Brandenburg of Merrill and Marilyn (Jack) Carstensen of Tomahawk; brother, Dennis ‘Jim’ Pfister of Walworth, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Audrey (Mark) Dollinger of Texas.  Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lokemoen; parents, Alvin and Ruth Pfister, Sr.; sisters, Juanita (Raymond) Wiedenhoft, Antoinette ‘Tootie’ (Alfred) Moser, Wanda ‘Mootsie’ (Carl) Severt and Shirley (John) Frondle; brothers, Gerald ‘Jigs’ Pfister, Alvin ‘Al’ ‘Slim’ (Earline) Pfister, Jr. and Lester ‘Dukie’ Pfister; sister-in-law, Shirley Pfister; and brother-in-law, Edward Brandenburg.

The funeral service for Beatrice will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.  Rev. Alex Lindsay will officiate.  Burial will take place in Chat Cemetery, Town of Birch, Lincoln County.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M.
