Darrin T. Neumann, 48, of Wausau, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston, under great care and comfort provided by doctors, nurses and staff of the I.C.U. at St. Clare’s. Darrin was born December 29, 1970, in Wausau, son of Elvera (Schmidt) Neumann and the late William ‘Peanuts’ Neumann. Darrin attended Trinity Lutheran School in Wausau and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1989. Darrin had a great work ethic and took pride in his work. He was employed by Sam’s Pizza and Howard Johnson. Darrin worked for Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork for 28 years. He started by working on the loading docks and eventually drove truck for them. His childhood dream of driving from coast to coast was realized by working for Kolbe & Kolbe. For the past two years, he enjoyed working at Norlen, Inc. and in his spare time, he worked for a local tent and event rental company. Darrin served as the past-president of the Wausau Eagles Club, where he devoted much of his time doing activities and chores for a group of people he enjoyed being around. Darrin was a very welcoming person. His laugh and smile could make anyone smile and feel at home. He was a terrific friend to everyone he met and treated everyone like he knew them forever. Darrin was the kind of person who would help you out without hesitation. He was a gentle giant who had a heart of gold and looked at things positively.
Survivors include his mother, Elvera Neumann of Wausau; seven siblings and their families, brother, Dean (Sue) Neumann of Merrill and family, Jenna (Matt) Robinson, Daniel (Sarah) Neumann and their children Jameson, Bentley and Lincoln; brother, Darryl Neumann of Wausau; brother, Dale (LeiLani) Neumann of Hamburg and family, Luke, Evan (Vivian) and Ariel; sister, Dannette (Andrew ‘Butch’) Gunseor of Mosinee and family, Cheyenne and Casey; brother, DeWayne (Kelly) Neumann of Brookfield, WI and family, Sam and Max; sister, Dinah (Jeff) Schneider of Merrill and family, Chloe Krahn and Sam Krahn; and sister, Doreen (Vincen) Collins of Thornton, CO; aunt, Lorraine (Alfred ‘Fritz’) Stevenson of Merrill; uncle, Earl (Linda) Schmidt of Merrill; and several cousins. Darrin was preceded in death by his father, William ‘Peanuts’ Neumann; nieces, Hannah Krahn and Kara Neumann; many aunts and uncles including, Diane and Rodney Pichelman; and his grandparents.
A Memorial Service for Darrin will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
