Merrill Police Department Calls for Service

October 21
At 7:43 a.m., an officer took a report of items that had been stolen from a vehicle and a camper at a residence.

At 8:10 a.m., an officer took a report of items that had been taken from a vehicle at a residence.

At 9:24 a.m., an officer took a report of a package that had been stolen from a residence after being delivered by the US Postal Service. The investigation in ongoing.

At 10:54 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a report of property that was found lying by a residence. The officer collected the property and brought it back to the Police Department for safekeeping. A short time later, a party came to the Police Department to report items taken from their garage. The items that had been recovered by the officer were found to be the said items. They were returned to the owner and the investigation is ongoing.

At 10:55 a.m., an officer took a report of items taken from a vehicle.

At 3:11 p.m., an officer took a report of items that had been taken from a vehicle during the course of the night before. The investigation is ongoing.

October 22
At 9:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Douglas Street for a report of a confrontation taking place between two individuals. As a result of that incident, one party was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.

October 23
At 3:55 a.m., officers responded to the area of Riverside Park for a male party that was visiting town with friends and was abandoned by those friends. Last known destination of the friends was Sheboygan or Tomah, WI. Officers provided the male party a ride to an area where his phone would function and he could call more reliable friends to take him home to the Tomah area.

At 4:56 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of W 3rd St. for a female party that smashed the sunroof and side mirror of a male party’s vehicle. Both parties were contacted and the female party was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

At 11:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of Walmart retail theft. Officers located the suspects in a vehicle leaving the area. Several parties in the vehicle were issued citations for underage drinking, drug paraphernalia and retail theft.

October 24
At 5:00 a.m., officers were called to the area of Riverside Ave and Center Ave for a report of two male parties that were walking on the roadway in all black clothing and carrying a backpack. Two parties were cited for underage alcohol and curfew.

October 25
At 4:00 a.m., officers located a vehicle with numerous parties occupying the vehicle beyond capacity. Contact was made with the parties and due to the investigation of the officers citations were issued for curfew, possession of THC and underage alcohol violations.

October 26
At 4:16 p.m., officers responded to the Riverbend Trail Pavilion for a report of a vehicle that was traveling at high rates of speed and tearing up the grass that was recently seeded. The vehicle and driver were located. The investigating officer is looking into possible criminal charges for criminal damage to property but on scene the male party was issued a citation for operating after revocation.

October 27
At 7:40 p.m., an officer responded to a local restaurant for a report of an employee fighting with their coworkers. The suspect pushed an employee into the wall and slapped the hat off of another employee before leaving the establishment. The suspect was identified but not located. The suspect is facing potential charges of disorderly conduct and battery.
