Voted one of Merrill’s 7 Wonders, Chips Drive-In is hosting a ‘Nostalgia Night’ on Monday, August 19, from 3-8 p.m.
The event will feature oldies music wafting across the Chips Restaurant parking lot, located at 1203 E 3rd St, Merrill, while volunteer car hops take orders from the public as they cruise in. Owner Tim Moser of Chips Hamburgers has graciously offered 50% of sales from carhop orders, to be donated to the Merrill Historical Society’s operations budget. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
Christine Vorpagel is organizing this event and is looking for volunteers who will take and deliver these orders. Sandy Moser, who started working at Chips in the mid 70’s is searching for her original polyester zippered dress/uniform and has already volunteered to join in this fun-filled evening.
For more information, or for those interested in volunteering, contact the Merrill Historical Society at 715-536-5652 or Christine Vorpagel at 715-551-3189.
Even if you can’t carhop, be sure to plan on supporting the Historical Society by dropping in to eat.
