Illinois man injured in Nokomis watercraft accident

A 26 year old man from Bartlett, IL was seriously injured Friday, August 2, 2019 as a result of a Jet Ski accident on Lake Nokomis.
Just before 1 p.m a cell 911 call reported the crash and that the victim was being brought to shore at the Nokomis Drive boat landing in the Town of Bradley north of Tomahawk.
According to the investigating deputy the operator of the watercraft collided with a second Jet Ski after losing control in the wake of a boat. The victim was found floating face down in the water after the crash. Witnesses were able to remove the victim from the water and bring him to shore, there paramedics treated him before he was brought to a nearby landing zone which was established by the Tomahawk and Nokomis Fire Departments. He was flown by Spirit 2 – air medical to the Trauma Center at Aspirus.
The Wisconsin DNR and the Lincoln County Rec. Deputy are investigating the matter. Alcohol was not involved in the incident.
