In June the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association selected the All State Softball Teams for Large Schools (Division 1 and 2). Merrill’s Kelsie Belfiori was selected to First Team All-State. Belfiori was also selected to represent team Wisconsin in the 2019 Battle of the Border were they played team Minnesota in a double header. Team Wisconsin consists of the top senior softball players from the state.
In Game one team Wisconsin won 10-2, were Belfiori had one plate appearance, drawing a walk. In game two, Minnesota got off to a fast start scoring eight runs in the first two innings. Team Wisconsin rallied with an 11-run fifth inning and scored three more runs in the sixth inning, for a total of 20 hits and a 16-10 win. In game two Belfiori was the starting right fielder and went 2-5, scoring twice and driving in one run.
