July 15
At 4:16 p.m. Officers responded to a call where the caller stated that someone was actively trying to break into their residence demanding money that the caller owed. Officers spoke with all parties on scene and discovered that the caller had in fact stolen money from one of the individuals whom was at the caller’s door. Initially the caller denied stealing the money but eventually admitted that they had lied to Officers and admitted to the theft of $80. The caller was taken into custody for theft and for obstructing an Officer.

At 4:11 p.m., an individual was taken into custody at the request of DOC Probation and Parole. The subject was then escorted to the Lincoln County Jail for the probation violation.

At 12:34 p.m., an individual was taken into custody at the request of a probation and parole. The subject was then escorted to the Lincoln County Jail for the probation violation.

At 4:53 a.m. Officers responded to a call of a Lincoln County inmate who has permission to work outside of the jail but was at his place of residence to which he entered through a window and had an argument with a female inside. It was learned the male was done with work early and attempted to work on his bicycle as he was having issues with the tube. The male party was returned to the jail facility without any additional charges at the request of the Lincoln County jail.

July 16
At 3:27 p.m., the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole requested that Officers respond to their office and take a female subject into custody for a rules violation. The female was taken into custody and transported to the jail.

July 17
At 11:45 a.m. a female called to report she had been contacted by phone from someone claiming to be the IRS. She recognized this as the scam it is and hung up. She simply wanted to report it to authorities.

At 1:32 p.m. an officer investigated a crash that occurred in a business parking lot. The driver meant to press the brake pedal but pressed the accelerator striking a sign and a pole. The driver and a passenger suffered minor injuries. A crash report will be completed.

At 4:22 p.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

At 5:42 p.m. a store called to report two teenaged males had been in their store and attempted to purchase merchandise with counterfeit money. When a staff member confronted them they fled the store. The investigation continues.

At 6:09 p.m. a male was cited for disorderly conduct after he parked in his neighbor’s driveway and began yelling and swearing at him. Their issue stems from a parking dispute.

At 6:50 p.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

July 18
At 8:15 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a vandalism to a vehicle complaint. An ongoing investigation is occurring to identify the suspect.

At 9:32 a.m. a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

At 4:26 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a store in reference to a theft complaint. A suspect was identified and contact will be made with the individual.

July 20
At approximately 9:00 a.m. Officers responded to a local business for a report of a male party brandishing a gun toward another customer at the business during an argument. Officers made contact with those involved and determined that the firearm was a BB gun. During the search of the suspect’s vehicle, a pipe with marijuana residue was discovered as well. The male party was arrested for disorderly conduct and the possession of drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 12:41 p.m. Officers responded to the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a power pole at Athletic Park causing the vehicle to be towed and the area blocked off due to damage done to the power line. Two males were discovered to have occupied the vehicle. The driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and reckless driving.

July 21
At approximately 8:45 p.m. Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle that was parked at the Merrill Fairgrounds. In making contact with the occupants of the vehicle it was discovered that the female had identified herself with a different name. Officers searched the vehicle after a positive alert from a K9 unit and discovered an ID for the female. There was also drug paraphernalia found within the vehicle. The female also was found to have a warrant through probation and parole. The female was taken into custody for the warrant as well as misrepresentation of identity and drug paraphernalia.

At approximately 2:55 p.m. Officers responded with Merrill EMS to a call at a business in the 1300 block of West Main Street for a male party possibly having a seizure. The male party was identified and found to have 3 open misdemeanor bonds all with the regulation of absolute sobriety. The male was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his heavy level of intoxication. Charges will be forwarded to the district attorney for the bail jumping violations.
