Aldermanic Recall Election: Consistently high early voter turnout reported

While the workday was just coming to an end for many Tuesday afternoon, each of the four contested districts in the city Aldermanic Recall election were already reporting consistently high voter turnouts. As of 4:30 p.m, 27% of registered voters (664 of 2,433) in all four districts had turned out to vote at the three polling locations of  city hall, the MARC and the Lincoln County Service Center. Polling workers also reported voter traffic had been steady throughout the day.

Turnout report by district, as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

District 1: 190 of 629 (30%) registered voters in district.
District 5: 138 of 600 (23%)
District 7: 195 of 668 (29%)
District 8: 141 of 536 (26%)

While Alderman Dave Sukow was not challenged in the recall election, 45 of 670 District 6 voters, turned out to vote in Tuesday’s election.
Polls will remain open until 8 p.m. this evening.
