2019 youth baseball camp comes to a close

12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, marked the end of the Merrill Baseball Association’s youth baseball camp. The three day camp, running from Monday through Wednesday, saw many kids from grades 1-6 attend to work on their game. Each day had a specific focus, with Monday being fielding, Tuesday for hitting and Wednesday for pitching and catching.
On the final day of the camp, the pitchers had a friendly competition, seeing who could throw the hardest. The pitchers lined up on the mound at the Merrill High School field, while Merrill’s varsity head coach Shawn Schultz, clocked their pitches. Little league player, Ej Weix, was the hardest thrower at the camp, with a pitch of 65 miles per hour.
