The Rotary Club of Merrill awarded its three annual scholarships to Merrill High School graduates recently.
The scholarships were awarded by incoming club president, Dean Elbe. Two seniors received awards that will be used at Northcentral Technical College and the other will be used at UW-LaCrosse.
Brielle Thorson received a $500.00 scholarship to study nursing at NTC. Stephen Koch, who will go to UW-LaCrosse to study statistics and actuarial science, was awarded $1500.00. Elizabeth Schmidt, received the Roger Nelson Memorial scholarship of $500.00 for study of mechanical design at NTC. The students apprised the Rotarians of their outside activities and career plans, as part of the ceremony that took place on June 4.
