Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports

A 37-year old Eagle River man was arrested Monday evening after a traffic stop in the Town of Bradley. The man was stopped for speeding on US Hwy. 8 near US Hwy. 51 just after 9:00 p.m.. A check showed the man was violating terms of his bond on two felony cases in Vilas County. The man was charged with two felony counts of bail jumping.

A 58-year old Dane County man was injured Thursday evening after striking a deer while riding his motorcycle in the Town of Merrill. The driver, from Cross Plains, was traveling south on US Hwy. 51 at Lincoln Drive when he struck the animal causing him to be ejected from his bike. The driver was transported to the Trauma Center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 62-year old Merrill man was arrested Friday morning on a charge of probation violation. Deputies went to a home in the Town of Merrill at 11:30 a.m. at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

A 35-year old Rhinelander man was taken into custody early Saturday morning after a deputy checked a suspicious vehicle in the Town of Bradley. Just after 2:30 a.m. the deputy found the vehicle parked in the road on Roberts Rd. When he made contact with the driver the deputy detected the odor of intoxicants and burnt marijuana. The driver was placed through field sobriety tests before he was taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A 63-year old Mosinee man was arrested Saturday evening on a disorderly conduct charge. Deputies went to a campground in the Town of Bradley after receiving a report of a disturbance. The suspect had went out on a boat prior to the call reporting the incident, the Recreation Deputy found the man on the water and escorted him back to shore where he was taken into custody.

A 22-year old Merrill man was cited early Sunday morning for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a traffic stop in the Town of Russell. A deputy stopped the vehicle the man was driving on State Rd. 17 south of Gleason at 1:00 a.m. after he observed it crossing over the center line. The driver displayed signs of impairment and was placed through field sobriety tests before he was taken into custody.
