The Bluejays took on Greenwood Hills Country Club on Tuesday, in the sixth leg of conference action. Merrill placed fourth as a team, however the Jays had two golfers finish in the top three.
Merrill’s Hunter Wallace took second place in the tournament, shooting a 74 (+2), only two shots behind the winner. Russell Dettmering also had a solid showing, shooting a 75 (+3), good enough for third place. Both Wallace and Dettmering played the front nine at even par, making the turn with a 36. The back nine is what gave the golfers some trouble, with Wallace shooting 38 (+2) and Dettmering shooting a 39 (+3).
Scores for the other Merrill golfers include: Mitchael Cammack 104 (+32), Dan Pepke 113 (+41) and Michael Casper 103 (+31).
The conference season came to a close on Friday with the final leg played at RiverEdge Golf Course in Marshfield.
