Neil, 85, left us on May 8, 2019 on a new journey. He was born in Boston, MA on February 26, 1934 to Gordon F. Bennett and Winifred (Soderlund) Bennett. He served in the U.S. Navy and then attended Northern Illinois University at DeKalb, IL. He graduated with a BA in Education and a MA in School Administration. Neil and Margaret (Sage) met at Northern and were married on January 27, 1957 in Downers Grove, IL. They were married 62 years. To them were born three children, Kelly (Ron Desrosiers), Paul and Ward (Diane Ollhoff) and two grandchildren, Donovan and Etienne Desrosiers. Neil was a teacher and later engaged in textbook sales. He was an avid reader, enjoyed wood carving, and loved watching all Wisconsin sports. He will be so missed by us all and his furry cat friend, Fiona.
There will be no service due to Neil’s wishes.
