Third leg of conference golf sees fifth place Merrill finish

A round of 75 (+4) for Merrill standout Russell Dettmering led all golfers in Fridays third leg of conference play at Wausau Country Club.
The Jays would finish in fifth place for the day, combining for 359 strokes, just six behind Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point who tied for third place with 353 strokes. D.C. Everest and Marshfield would tie for first place, each shooting a team score of 338 strokes.
“As a team we improved our score by 23 strokes,” said Merrill head coach Andy Plisch, “With continued hard work, we will have some great results for the year.”
Scores for the other Merrill golfers include: Hunter Wallace- 85 (+14), Michael Casper- 95 (+25), Mitchael Cammack- 104 (+34) and Riley Schotz- 117 (+47).
