Win what? The Merrill City Band is bringing back the “Campaign to Conduct” for the 2019 concert season. Three well-known Merrill “celebrities” will compete for the opportunity to conduct a piece on one of the Merrill City Band concerts, and Mr. Murray is the first candidate.
Displays are coming to locations around town and will be announced soon. The candidate that gathers the most “votes” (i.e., cold, hard cash) will step to the podium for a familiar tune at a Wednesday night, summer concert. Once displays go up, please vote early and often!,No photo I.D. required!
City band director Linda Becker notes, “This is one time where voter fraud is not only appreciated, but highly encouraged!”
