Steckbauer named MHS Youth Optimist of the Month

MHS senior Quinn Steckbauer has been selected as February Youth Optimist of the Month.
Quinn was nominated by Mr. Robert Klug and Mrs. Janet Wardall. Mr. Klug knows Quinn through football and comments that “even during moments of frustration, Quinn keeps a level head and motivates his teammates in a positive manner. Quinn is simply a polite, well-mannered young man.”
Mrs. Wardall has Quinn as a student and writes, “Quinn is a silent leader. He helps his classmates and teammates put forth their best efforts. He always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face regardless of the task at hand. Quinn is a personable young man who exudes warmth, kindness, compassion, and confidence.”
During high school, Quinn has participated in football, where he earned the titles of captain and most improved player, and basketball; where he earned the title of team captain. Steckbauer also participates in band, Math League, and Link Crew.
Quinn volunteers at St. Francis fish fry events, summer youth basketball camps, youth football, and Link Crew.
After graduation Quinn plans to attend a four year university to pursue a career in the health field. Quinn is the son of Tammy and Jeb Steckbauer.
