Due to inclement weather, HAVEN’s Sexual Assault Supporters and Survivors Vigil scheduled for this afternoon has been relocated from the Gazebo at Normal Park, to the HAVEN office located at 1106 E 8th St.
The month of April is being observed nationwide as both Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month.
As a closing to these observances, HAVEN (Household Abuse Victims Emergency Network) is inviting the public to a Sexual Assault Survivors and Supporters Vigil on Tuesday,
April 30, 2019 at the HAVEN office located at 1106 E 8th St. The vigil will be held from 4:15 to 5:15 PM and will include a display of painted denim created by sexual assault survivors and supporters expressing their thoughts, feelings and personal journeys. Teal is the color designated for sexual assault awareness and blue is the color for child abuse prevention, so participants are encouraged to wear either or both colors. Teal and blue awareness ribbons will be available free for those who attend.
