One dead, two injured in Town of Harrison crash

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the second fatal crash in the county in less than a week.
According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office, at 2:55 AM Sunday morning the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s E-911 Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a one-vehicle rollover on State Rd 17 at County Rd D, in the Town of Harrison.

Preliminary information is that a vehicle was traveling southbound on State Rd 17 when it left the roadway and rolled over. During the course of the crash the driver and one passenger were ejected from the vehicle. When emergency responders arrived on-scene, they found the driver Wayne Allen Millron, age 28 of Rhinelander, was fatally injured.

The passenger, an 18-year old Rhinelander man was transported to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. He was later taken to the trauma center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he is in critical condition. A third passenger, an 18-year old Tomahawk man received treatment at the scene but declined medical transport.

Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash but are awaiting standard test results. The Wisconsin State Patrol is reconstructing the crash.

Responding units included, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Town of Crescent Fire Department and First Responders and Oneida County Medic One and Rhinelander Fire Department 91.
