Prairie River Middle School student Olivia Troyer has been named Youth Optimist for the Month of March. Olivia was nominated by teacher Mike Rindt.
“Olivia has a quality that is increasingly hard to find in today’s world: self-motivation.” said Rindt. “She is constantly attempting to put her best effort into any activity she participates in. Olivia is not satisfied until her best work shows. She is a true ‘team player’ and concerns herself with others’ well-being. Her friendliness and participation in class are also characteristics that make Olivia deserving of being a Youth Optimist.”
Daughter of Kristin and Patrick Troyer, Olivia participates in cross-country, volleyball and ski club. During her time at PRMS Troyer has been awarded first place in the National History Day project, twice-named PRMS Student of the Quarter and won the Voice of Democracy Essay in 6th grade. Olivia is also very involved in the community; assisting with concessions at softball games, participating in Make a Difference Day and chalk walk. Olivia lists her personal qualities as compassionate, helpful and organized.
