Closure announced for portion of county snowmobile trails

As of Wednesday morning, zones 2 and 3 of Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile and winter ATV trail system are closed effective immediately, due to water concerns.
According to a press release from the Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Department, Zones 1 (Tomahawk area trails) and 4 (southwestern county trails) will remain open at the current time, but may be rough and icy in some areas and could deteriorate rapidly. Caution is recommended when riding in these areas.
All trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F. Be aware of Trail Closed signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private landTimber harvesting is occurring in various locations along the trails, be aware of Logging Ahead signs and use extreme caution in these areas
