Parents and community members are encouraged to attend this free program on Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Tomahawk High School LMC (enter through Door 6). Officer Brett Susa, Tomahawk School Resource Officer, and Debbie Moellendorf, Positive Youth Development and Health and Well Being Educator with UW-Madison Division of Extension Lincoln County, will be sharing information about the latest drug trends in our community and common items being found in our schools. They will also be sharing information about where to get help and tips for talking with teens about substance abuse. There will also be an opportunity prior to the program from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and following the program from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for parents and community members to go through the Teen Bedroom display.

This interactive exhibit is designed to resemble a teenager’s bedroom. The display contains multiple items, hidden in plain sight, which may be signs of dangerous or risky behaviors and substance use. You must be 21 years of age and older to go through the display which will be set up in Room 298 at the Tomahawk High School (enter through Door 6). Tomahawk Schools is partnering with Healthy Minds for Lincoln County, Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital, Tomahawk Police Department, Lincoln County Health Department and UW-Madison Division of Extension Lincoln County to provide this free educational program. For more information about this program, contact Dawn Huseby at Tomahawk Middle School at 715-453-5371 Ext. 316 or via email at husebyd@tomahawk.k12.wi.us .

Healthy Minds for Lincoln County is a part of Live Well Lincoln, a collaborative that strives to promote partnerships within the community to improve health through advocacy, prevention and implementation of best practices.
