Chamber Spotlight on Business: A Cut Above Salon
The Spotlight on Business for March is A Cut Above Salon located at 400 West Main Street.
A Cut Above Salon is owned by Kari Lea Kufahl. The shop is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m Tuesday thru Thursday, and Fridays from 7 a.m.- to 3 p.m, by appointment only.
A Cut Above started in 1981 and later moved with a salon attached to Kufahl’s home. She opened her current location in April 2007. The current location is best known as a former bakery on the corner of West Main and North Prospect Streets. Following renovations, this one chair shop offers hair care, cuts, colors, perms and tanning services. Kari keeps all her prices affordable so that hair care is available for everyone. Kari also provided haircut services for many years to students at Lincoln Hills Juvenile Facility on weekends. She continues to provide hair care services to residents at Pine Crest Nursing Home on Mondays.
“Kari’s services are the best”, said Debbe Kinsey, Chamber CEO. “It’s an old fashion shop where the owner does the work and knows her clients very well. Above all, the prices are very affordable and the services are personal, tailored to you.”
Aside from providing services to area nursing homes, senior housing facilities and Lincoln Hills, Kari also served as an elected official on the school board. A Cut Above Salon, is another great example of a home grown, locally owned business that takes care of you and your family right here in Merrill. It’s one more reason we say, “For the Love of Merrill!”
Kari can be reached at the salon during regular business hours at (715) 536-1269.
