The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected homicide in the Town of Pine River, stemming from a request for a welfare check Thursday morning.
According to a press release issued by LISO this morning, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning, deputies responded to a residence on Range Line Road in the Town of Pine River for what they believed to be a welfare check. When deputies arrived on scene, a 77-year old female was located in the residence deceased from a gunshot wound and a
78-year old male was found critically injured from a gunshot wound. The male remains hospitalized and his condition is unknown at this time,.
“This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing,” the release stated. “It is believed to be an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
The scene was processed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Justice Crime Lab. Names are not being released at this time, as further information becomes available, future press releases will follow.
