Kenneth R. Williams, age 58, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, while at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, and under the care of Ascension Hospice. Kenny was born on October 16, 1960 to the late Richard G. and Mathilda C. (Nyquist) Williams in Minneapolis, MN. He attended and graduated from high school in Saint Francis, MN. Kenny was an assembly worker at Lincoln Industries in Merrill. He was an avid and dedicated Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan, as well as Minnesota North Star hockey, Golden Gopher softball and the Mighty Ducks.
In his younger years, Kenny enjoyed fishing and camping. He liked to go to rummage sales and would find many treasures! Recently, he enjoyed listening to his favorite polka bands on the radio, watching movies and attending fair festivities as often as possible. Kenny appreciated having some independence while living at Park Place Apartments and enjoyed the other tenants and staff.
Kenny is survived by his two brothers: Wayne (Janell) Williams of North Branch, MN and James ‘Jim’ Williams of Merrill, as well as some nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service for Kenny will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1pm at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Freddy McMillen will officiate. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
