Holiday buttons on display at T.B. Scott Free Library

Another stunning collection of buttons belonging to local resident Kathleen Marquardt is on display at T.B. Scott Free Library as the current Beyond Books: Community ArtShare exhibit.

Highlighted in this exhibit are Button Advent Calendars which feature various holiday related pictures or drawings with 24 accompanying buttons for each day of the calendar. The idea for this fun activity came from a group “The Button Buds” – fellow button enthusiasts who share their love of buttons with Kathleen. There are even easy to follow instructions on how to create a Button Advent Calendar of your own.

Each button has a story. Whether it’s a memory of the quest for a particular button, or the history and significance of individual items on display, each button has something to say. Holiday buttons and calendar shapes that are featured are: Santa, a Christmas tree, an angel, a gift/present, the North Pole and a gingerbread house. Come to T.B. Scott Free Library and spend some time enjoying this latest display.

The buttons will be available for viewing through December. T.B. Scott Library’s “Beyond Books: Community ArtShare” series features a new exhibit rotating on an ongoing basis. The series was originally made possible by a $10,000 grant from the Mead Witter Foundation, Inc. of Wisconsin Rapids.
