Marianne Ekdahl, age 85, of Merrill, went home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2018 at Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born on May 22, 1933 to the late Konrad and Katharina (Kiessling) Kollmar in Herborn, Germany. She married Lawrence Ekdahl on April 18, 1957 in Herborn, Germany.
Marianne was a kindergarten teacher in Germany and she was a dining room manager at a restaurant.
Marianne is survived by her loving husband: Lawrence Ekdahl of Merrill, children: Bernd (Judy) Ekdahl, Rapid River, MI, Silvia Kato, Merrill, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and two nieces and one nephew living in Germany.
A Memorial gathering will take place at 2 PM on December 1, 2018 at Waid Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of service, also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated in Marianne’s name to the charity of your choice.
