Merrill’s Wardall part of NCAA Tournament Qualifier at UW-Whitewater

Morgan Wardall, a native of Merrill and graduate of Merrill High School, is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team, which is making its 26th appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship over the last 27 years this week at the NCAA Regional at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Wardall is a freshman at UW-Whitewater.

The Warhawks (24-7 overall) earned a Pool C, or at-large, bid to the national tournament, and face Ohio Northern in the first round this Thursday at 4 p.m.

The winner of Thursday’s match will face the winner of the Greenville-Calvin match, slated for Thursday at 7 p.m.

Other teams in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, regional include Hope (Mich.), DePauw (Ind.), Wittenberg (Ohio) and Carthage.

UW-Whitewater finished second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings and made its sixth straight appearance in the WIAC Tournament championship match. The team is ranked 18th in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Warhawks are making their 30th appearance overall in the NCAA Championship.
