Merrill athletes garner All-Conference honors

Many Merrill athletes of all fall sports were selected as All-Conference players. Two boys soccer players earned those honors, including Hunter Wallace who got second team all Wisconsin Valley conference as a midfielder and Mason Gebert who received honorable mention for goalie.

For the swim team Grace Schultz received second team for the 100 yard backstroke as well as the 200 yard freestyle. Claire Schultz got second team for the 50 yard freestyle and honorable mention for the 100 yard freestyle. The Merrill 400 and 200 yard freestyle relay teams each got honorable mention and Trinity Kanitz earned the honors of conference swimmer of the year.

The girls tennis team had their doubles team of Sierra Humphrey and Olivia Wheat take home honorable mention, as well as singles player Anna Skoviera.

For volleyball Merrill had five girls receive all-conference honors, including Megan Schroder who was unanimous first team as an outside hitter. Kelsie Belfori also got first team as a libero. Kaylee Bowe got second team honors as middle hitter and Elizabeth Iribarren and Rylee Mrachek each got honorable mention as right side hitters.

For the football team Rob Oestreich was selected as second team offensive lineman and at defensive line. Kole Meyer earned unanimous first team as a defensive lineman and honorable mention as tight end. Tyler Wolff earned second team punter. Dominic Leistikow received second team running back. Dawson Dengle was selected as honorable mention offensive lineman, Chase Bonnell got honorable mention as a defensive back and Jackson Vander Velde was selected as honorable mention linebacker.

All-conference honors for cross country are not available at this time.
