Technical glitch to blame for sheriff’s office issues with 911 call reception

As of 1:44 PM, the technical difficulties reported by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in receiving 911 calls has been resolved.

Earlier today, The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office advised experiencing difficulty receiving Verizon wireless 911 calls.

A press release issued by the sheriff’s office, advised callers who receive a message indicating the 911 number is no longer in service, to contact the sheriff’s office administration line at 715-536-6272.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office E-911 Communications Center Administrator Lt. Tim Fischer, the issue appeared to have been caused by a technical glitch which occurred during the center’s transition to a new service provider. The issue has been located and is now resolved.
