Lincoln Community Bank and the Optimist Club of Merrill are pleased to announce the award of a $25,000 grant to the Optimist Club from the John T. Vucurevich Foundation of Rapid City, South Dakota. The Optimist Club will use the grant to construct a handicapped-accessible playground at Normal Park, which will enhance the two-acre park that is currently used for musical events, picnics, a farmers market in summer, and ice skating in winter.
Lincoln Community Bank is a subsidiary of United Bancorporation, whose majority shareholder is the John T. Vucurevich Foundation. Lincoln Community Bank’s senior management team submitted a grant application to the Foundation to ask for financial assistance in creating this wonderful community project and as a means for the John T. Vucurevich Foundation to show its gratitude to the community of Merrill for supporting the bank throughout the years.
Later this fall Mackinac Financial Corporation, the holding company for mBank, will acquire Lincoln Community Bank.
