Merrill Police reports

September 17
2:34 p.m.- A caller reported unauthorized charges from his bank account. The officer will be speaking to a bank representative tomorrow as she left for the day. Investigation is ongoing.
3:02 p.m.- A gas station reported a female had struck a gas pump and fled the scene. An officer located the vehicle and the driver admitted she struck the gas pump and fled as she was afraid she’d be jailed as she does not have a valid license. A crash report will be completed and the driver will be cited.
4:28 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
5:25 p.m.- A caller reported unauthorized charges on her 16-year-old daughter’s debit account. The officer waited on hold with the company for 45 minutes. The caller stated she would contact the company tomorrow to inquire further details about the transactions. Further investigation is forthcoming.
7:10 p.m.- A caller reported her children were playing near an apartment complex and found a marijuana pipe. An officer disposed of the pipe at the police department.

September 18
8:40 a.m.- A library staff member located an aluminum can which had been fashioned into a smoking device believed to have been used to smoke marijuana. The item was destroyed at the police department.
3:41 p.m.- A crash was reported on E. 1st at Mill Street. A vehicle drove off the roadway striking a utility pole. The driver displayed indications of intoxication and was placed through field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests he was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
5:56 p.m.- A man was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. The incident arose from earlier contact with the man and it was found he was in possession of a firearm which he is prohibited from doing. A search warrant was executed at his residence and the firearm was located and seized.

September 19
2:23 p.m.- Officers responded to the Probation and Parole office to take a male party into custody on a probation violation. He was taken into custody and transported to the jail.

September 20
4:33 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver was found to have an active warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody.
