A 28-year-old Stevens Point woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

A 23-year-old Wausau woman was arrested Tuesday evening after a traffic stop in the Town of Birch. A deputy stopped the vehicle on US Hwy. 51 at County Rd. V. K9 Nina alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle and a search turned up drug paraphernalia used for consuming or distributing methamphetamine. The woman was arrested on the felony charge of possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia along with two warrants for failing to appear in Marathon County Court and for violating the terms of her probation.

A 29-year-old Rosholt man was arrested Thursday morning after a traffic stop. The deputy identified the the man used his brother’s information and after a check showed the man was actually wanted. He was arrested on a warrant charges along with a new charge of obstructing an officer.

Two Evansville, WI residents were arrested Friday morning on drug charges following a traffic stop. When the deputy made contact with the driver he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver, an 18-year-old woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the passenger, a 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 26-year-old Fitchburg man will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney on a drug charge after a traffic stop Friday evening in the Town of Merrill. The K9 Poncho alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle and a subsequent search found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A 58-year-old Appleton woman was injured Saturday afternoon after an ATV crash in the Town of Harrison. The woman was traveling on a trail off of County Rd. B when she was ejected from her ATV after it rolled over. She was transported to Ascension Good Samaritan Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Six people reported striking deer this past week. A black bear was found struck by a vehicle on US Hwy. 51 near County Rd. V early Thursday morning. On Saturday a Wausau man struck and killed a bear on County Rd. K at Black Alder Road in the Town of Merrill.
