Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources staff, along with Lincoln, Oneida, and Langlade County Deer Advisory Councils will host a public meeting Wednesday, Aug. 15 to discuss testing and surveillance in response to the discovery of chronic wasting disease in wild deer in northeast Lincoln County, and south-central Oneida County.
The meeting will detail CWD collection sites as well as voluntary surveillance permits used to acquire tissue samples for CWD testing. These permits will be issued in an area surrounding the location where a wild deer tested positive for CWD in the fall of 2017 and spring of 2018.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Tomahawk High School, Auditorium, 1048 E. King Road, Tomahawk. DNR staff will be attendance to provide information regarding these surveillance permits.
