Library short stories group at the brewery

Is your life too busy and hectic these days to read a book once a month? Everyone deserves a little “me time.”

So, how about a short story instead? You won’t have to buy or borrow it. It’s not very time consuming. If you didn’t like the story, you only wasted minutes versus hours. To top it off, you also meet at the brewery! How sweet is that?!

Join us at the Sawmill Brewing Co. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m. for a night of discussion, trivia and more. For our first story, we are reading “The Catbird Seat” by James Thurber. Grab a printed copy of the story across from the front desk at T.B. Scott Free Library or read it online at www.tbscottlibrary.org/sawmill-short-stories. Future short story nights will be on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Did we mention it’s at the brewery? Must be 21+ years to participate. Stories are being specifically selected for adult reading and discussion, so please leave the kids at home.

Come in before the program to treat yourself to refreshments to enjoy during the discussion. Not a beer drinker? Not a problem. The Sawmill Brewing Co. offers a selection of wine, soda, kombucha, etc.

Registration is not required. This should be a treat for yourself, not another time commitment. Come to any short story night that works for you!

This event is made possible thanks to the cooperation of the Sawmill Brewing Co. Need more information? Please contact Sarah at T.B. Scott Free Library, 715-536-7191, or [email protected]).
