Michael J. Brock

Michael J. Brock, age 68, of the Town of Russell, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at his home, doing what he loved, working on one of his tractors.

Mike was born April 10, 1950, in Merrill. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elaine (Pophal) Brock. He married Jeanne Hall on October 5, 2000. She survives. Mike raised beef cattle, was a crop farmer, and self-employed ‘trucker’ hauling either milk or pulp logs.

Mike loved the land-plowing, planting, and watching his crops grow, then harvesting them in the fall. He liked to restore his John Deere tractors or pick-ups. He loved animals and country music.

Mike’s passion was tractor pulling in which many enjoyed the legendary rivalry between his best friend, Mark Schulz, and him on their 720 John Deere tractors. He was a loyal, honest, hard-working man who would do anything to help others and was proud of his accomplishments. He loved to socialize and was a dear friend to many.

Mike is survived by his wife, Jeanne Brock, Merrill; two children, Krystal Brock, Merrill, and Matt (Stephanie) Brock, Gleason; two step children, Rebecca (Robert) Ott, Merrill, and Andy (Rebekah) Chartier, Rothschild; two grandchildren, Marcus and Elaina Brock; ten step grandchildren, Stephanie (Caleb) Delany, Andrew , Peter, Hallel, Isaiah, and Shalom Chartier, and Abbigail, Mia, Madison, and Tyson Ott; two step great grandchildren, Maxwell Lambrecht and Emma Delany; a step great grandchild ‘on the way’; and four half siblings, Sandy, Mike, Steve, and Jerry Samuelson. Besides his parents, Mike is preceded in death by one brother, Steve Brock.

He was greatly loved by his wife Jeanne and son Matt and all his family. God took him home too early but he will live on in the hearts of many.

A visitation for Mike will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com.
