Hailey Schult was nominated by Mrs. Wendy Arndt for the May Youth Optimist of the Month. Mrs. Arndt writes, “Hailey always comes to work with a smile and a positive attitude. She is friendly to fellow students, staff and also to visitors that come to the high school. She never hesitates to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Hailey is hard-working, honest, dependable, trustworthy, and genuinely a good person. She is a friendly, kind person and works extremely hard to achieve the things that are important to her. Her hard work and dedication leads me to believe that she will continue to be successful in the future.”

School activities that Hailey participates in include National Honor Society, Octagon Club, Ski and Snowboard Team, Link Crew, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Band, UWMC Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble in which she has lettered and earned band awards, tennis and soccer – receiving two varsity letters in each.

Outside of school, Hailey has been active in Special Olympics, Optimist Easter egg hunt, Day with Santa, Optimist cheese curd stand, Pine Crest Nursing Home helper, elementary school enrichment, highway cleanup, and Venture Crew President. She also was a member of a college band in 2017 and a USAFA Summer Seminar attendee.

Following high school graduation, Hailey plans to join the Air Force. She will go to the US Air Force Academy in Colorado to become a pilot in the Air Force. She is the daughter of David and Heidi Schult.
