Krueger named repeat Athlete of the Week

Last week the Bluejay varsity Girls Softball team came up big with back-to-back powerhouse performances in their WIAA Tournament debut; downing Hayward 10-0 on Wednesday and Rhinelander 10-3 on Thursday, to claim the Regional Championship. Strong-armed senior pitcher Taylor Krueger proved unforgiving from the mound in both games; striking out four and allowing just four hits in her shutout performance Wednesday, and dishing out another 5 strikeouts on Thursday.

A four-year varsity starter on the softball team, Taylor wrapped up her 2nd year as a manager for the Girls varsity Basketball team this past winter.

Aside from sports, Taylor is a member of the MHS chapter of National Honor Society and MHS Earth Club, as well as a three-year member of the MHS Octagon Club and a 4-year member of the Merrill Youth Softball Association and MAPS Advisory Council.

In her free time, Taylor enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as her beloved German Shorthaired Pointers; Misty, Pretzel and Sadie.

Daughter of Hugh and Fran Krueger of Merrill, Taylor will be attending Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota this fall. She plans to major in Biology and step into a Pitcher position for the Storm Softball Team.
