Merrill Police reports
April 24
10:55 a.m.- Officers were investigating a crash when they located drug paraphernalia. An interview was done and charges were forwarded to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office.
7:30 p.m.- While officers were assisting Probation and Parole on home visits a male was taken into custody for a probation violation.
April 25
9:42 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of the Probation & Parole.
9:59 a.m.- A detective went to an address after gathering intelligence that a couple of people that had warrants were at the residence. Contact was established at the residence and two people inside were arrested for several warrants they each had. Suspected marijuana was also located and additional charges are forthcoming.
2:48 p.m.- A caller reported while he had been incarcerated someone took his vehicle without permission to the scrap yard. Possible suspects were named and investigation continues.
3:02 p.m.- An officer was flagged down in a store parking lot by someone wishing to report that a toddler had been left unattended in a vehicle. It was found the grandmother had left the one-year-old in the vehicle while she was shopping. She will be charged with child neglect.
10:36 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The officer could smell the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle. Two small containers containing marijuana were seized along with a marijuana pipe. The driver was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.
April 26
12:33 a.m.- A tavern reported finding three syringes lying in the restroom. The syringes tested positive for methamphetamine. They were properly discarded at the police department.
3:48 p.m.- A caller reported finding a syringe in his driveway. It was properly disposed of at the police department.
5:11 p.m.- An officer observed a male he knew to have warrants for his arrest. Contact was made with the man and he was arrested for two active warrants for his arrest.
