During the month of April both Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month are observed.
All three law enforcement departments in Lincoln County participated in promoting awareness about both issues by displaying blue ribbons for child abuse prevention and teal ribbons for sexual assault awareness, plus making ribbons available at their agency offices.
The ribbons were provided by HAVEN, Household Abuse Victims Emergency Network, which serves people who experience all types of interpersonal abuse and sexual assault.
HAVEN is very grateful for the collaborations with local law enforcement in extending awareness to help prevent both child abuse and sexual assault.
